AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo City Council is expected to host a regular meeting Tuesday, which is set to include discussions of affordable housing, bus shelter purchases, reports from Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare, and the presentation of a new Amarillo Chief Financial Officer.
According to the agenda, the regular city council meeting will start at 3 p.m., with sign-up for public comment available online here, by calling the City Secretary’s office at 806-378-3014 or in person at least 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting start time.

Discussion items listed in the agenda include updates from AAMW as well as the presentation of Omolola “Lola” Ogunremi as City of Amarillo Chief Financial Officer. This announcement comes as CFO Laura Storrs is set to retire this month, after more than 20 years of service to the city.
Consent items listed in the agenda include multiple items considering resolutions to accept multiple applications for the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for 2026 Competitive 9% Housing Tax Credits for housing projects.
