There are certain things in the Texas Panhandle and the Amarillo area that you could just count on. The wind is one of course. Then there are the area events that are held yearly that would bring a smile to your face.
At those area events, a lot of us were used to seeing Pokey the Clown, aka Doug Smith. He would drive around in his fire truck or pass out Plains Milk. He always wanted to bring joy to everyone he saw.
