Georgia Street construction update in Amarillo

Crews are continuing work on the Georgia Street Reconstruction Project in Amarillo, focusing on installing new storm drainage and water lines between Casique Drive and Loop 335. This week, workers are digging trenches and placing large storm drain pipes beneath the roadway to improve drainage and protect the street during heavy rain.

After the drainage and water line work is finished, crews will prepare the roadway base for new concrete paving, expected to begin around the 16th of this month. The concrete will take about 28 days to cure before reopening.
