Remarkable Woman: Wendi Swope, a story of strength and grace

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A few words to describe Wendi Swope, one of our Remarkable Women finalists, are resilient, strong, and determined. She is a woman of many talents, wearing many hats, and has made an impact in our community.

Swope is a local girl who has been giving back to her community and making an impact. Swope’s sister, Chelsea Williams, saw her talent and unwavering resilience, as said in her nomination letter.

“We have faced trials and tribulations together and will continue to do so. The strength and grace she has done it has really set a precedent in my life,” explained Williams.

Swope attended Amarillo College and then West Texas A&M University. At AC, she received an Associate’s degree in Marketing. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in broadcasting at WT. After graduation, Swope became a producer at KAMR Local 4 News.
