West Texas A&M University hosts ribbon cutting ceremony for renovated dining hall

CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – West Texas A&M University announced it will celebrate a ribbon cutting for “The Caf” University Dining Hall on Wednesday, after it underwent a $3 million upgrade in 2025.

As noted in previous reports, The Caf’s layout was redesigned with upgraded equipment and expanded menu options at six entree stations. Further, a new food lab and teaching kitchen is set to allow chefs to offer culinary demonstrations to students with rotating theme concepts.

Amarillo City Council approves zoo lease agreement

Renovations for The Caf followed the end of the 2025 spring semester, with “phase three” of upgrades set to begin in the summer of 2026 or the upstairs dining space and main entrance. By the end of the final phase, WTAMU officials said more than $6 million will have been invested in improvements and renovations since 2024.
