AMARILLO, Texas — A man walked away from a harrowing crash at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in the Texas Panhandle, officials said.
The man survived with a concussion and broken ribs after his vehicle blew a tire, causing him to leave the road and roll 200 feet down the canyon, according to a social media post from Texas State Park Police.
Around 11:49 a.m. on Monday, March 9, park staff were notified by a visitor of a man with possible injuries at the Mack Dick Pavilion, police said. Staff met up with the man and found signs of an injury, including a black eye and bleeding. He told staff he had a flat tire, but staff could not immediately locate the vehicle, the post states.
