AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – In the latest edition of the Wellness Rundown, KAMR Local 4 News’ Anchor Mari Ferrel sat down with Haley Sparks from Rebuilt Life Coaching to talk about ways you can implement self-talk and affirmations into your day.
During the episode, Sparks mentioned a study in the book Sound Tracks by Jon Acuff that said affirmations reduce overthinking by 250% and increase the likelihood of reaching a goal by 400%.

A few examples of positive affirmations are:
- “When I look in the mirror, I see a healthy person.”
- “I trust that I have the capability to reach my goals.”
- “The food I choose to eat nourishes my body.”
- “I am empowered to create the life I want to live.”
Sparks discussed a few strategies that can help implement self-affirmations into your daily life.
Here are a few tips that Sparks recommended:
- Say your affirmations out loud once or twice a day;
- Record your affirmations;
- Write them out in a journal;
- Place written affirmations on a mirror;
- Create a vision board that highlights your affirmation.
