AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – In the latest edition of the Wellness Rundown, KAMR Local 4 News’ Anchor Mari Ferrel sat down with Haley Sparks from Rebuilt Life Coaching to talk about ways you can implement self-talk and affirmations into your day.

During the episode, Sparks mentioned a study in the book Sound Tracks by Jon Acuff that said affirmations reduce overthinking by 250% and increase the likelihood of reaching a goal by 400%.

A few examples of positive affirmations are:

  • “When I look in the mirror, I see a healthy person.”
  • “I trust that I have the capability to reach my goals.”
  • “The food I choose to eat nourishes my body.”

Sparks discussed a few strategies that can help implement self-affirmations into your daily life.

Here are a few tips that Sparks recommended:

  • Say your affirmations out loud once or twice a day;
  • Record your affirmations;
  • Write them out in a journal;
  • Place written affirmations on a mirror;
  • Create a vision board that highlights your affirmation.
