Attorney General investigating inmate death at Clements Unit

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Office of the Attorney General is investigating a death that occurred at the Clements Unit on Saturday.

The report states that the inmate, 43-year-old Samuell Jackson, was found lying on the floor in a High Security C-Pod cell. Texas Department of Criminal Justice correctional staff located Jackson and performed life saving measures.

Records note that Jackson was transported to a local hospital for further care and was determined to be brain dead, and life support was removed.
