Former Amarillo Police Department officer pleads guilty to drunk driving charge

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – A former Amarillo Police Department officer pleaded guilty to “Driving While Intoxicated” in Potter County on Thursday.

According to court documents, 33-year-old Tre Joseph Galvan was sentenced to one year of probation and community service, and fined $500.

Galvan was arrested back in October 2025, after APD was called to the 2200 block of Wolflin Avenue on a report of a truck hitting another vehicle. When officers arrived, they reported signs that Galvan – then an off-duty officer – may have been intoxicated…
