Randall County officer arrested for official oppression

The Randall County Sheriff’s Office reported that on March 12, 2026, a male correctional officer was accused of verbal sexual harassment toward a female inmate. The case was investigated by the Criminal Investigations and Internal Affairs Divisions. Hylee Gomez was placed on administrative leave the same day and later terminated on March 16, 2026.

A warrant was issued on March 20, 2026, and Gomez was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for Official Oppression under Texas Penal Code 39.03, a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail, a fine up to $4,000, or both…
