Amarillo Landed a Major Food Manufacturing Facility

One of the great things about Amarillo is its continued growth. On any given week, a new business is being announced or opening up in the Yellow City. Some are small businesses, others are chain businesses, while others are huge companies building in Amarillo.

Coast Packing Company Expanding Into Amarillo

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, another big business is planning a facility in Amarillo. The Coast Packing Company is preparing to open an edible fats and oils refinery and packaging facility.

The new facility will be built at 9400 Centerport Blvd, just down from the Coca-Cola facility. According to the TDLR, construction of the facility is expected to be completed in September 2027, although the company originally said the facility could open as early as summer 2026.

The facility will be around 15,600 square feet with an estimated cost of $12,300,000.

The company broke ground on the new facility over a year ago, on February 5, 2025. According to information shared during Coast Packing Company’s groundbreaking, the company expects to create 30 new jobs in Amarillo with plans to grow that number to around 60 over time…
