Updated load-limit signs to be added to 34th Avenue railroad bridge

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The City of Amarillo announced updated load-limit signage will be added to the bridge later this month over the BNSF Railroad at 34th Avenue following a recent inspection.

According to the city, the Texas Department of Transportation completed a recent inspection and engineering evaluation of the bridge at 34th Ave and will be installing updated load-limit signage at the structure. Plans to rehabilitate the structure were advanced through TxDOT’s Off-System Bridge Program.

Officials said the posting will establish a maximum gross vehicle weight of 18,000 pounds and a 7,000-pound axle or tandem axle limit.
