Much anxiety and interest have been buzzing around on social media and local conversations about the possible extermination of native prairie dogs from John Stiff Memorial Park in Amarillo.
In one statement, officials said that relocation efforts had been unsuccessful due to the high numbers of the critters. During a recent Amarillo parks and recreation board meeting, park staff members said that their attempts to relocate the prairie dogs had been futile and they were considering extermination of them.
