The RANGE accepting candidates for new Horizons Workforce Development cohort

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The RANGE is now accepting candidates for its Horizons Workforce Development cohort, a new initiative designed to prepare the “next generation of talent for meaningful careers in the Texas Panhandle.”

According to officials from The RANGE, Horizons is focused on connecting candidates with skills and career pathways aligned with the needs of local employers. Officials note that the program is for individuals over 17 who want a “competitive edge as they enter the workforce, where a college degree is not a requirement for a well-paying career.”

“Horizons is designed to help candidates stand out to employers, build confidence in the hiring process, and succeed from day one on the job,” said Jay Barrett, Principal Investigator of Workforce Development at The RANGE. “These are practical skills that can change the trajectory of a career.”

Officials note that Barrett had been meeting with businesses across the Panhandle to build a curriculum grounded in “real-world expectations and opportunities.”…
