Rising gas prices add pressure for food trucks in Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Rising gas prices are creating new challenges for food truck owners in Amarillo, who say higher fuel costs are adding up as they travel across the city to serve customers.

For many food trucks, mobility is essential. Owners often travel to multiple locations throughout the day, relying on fuel not only for transportation but also to power generators and equipment.

Farmers will pay more for fertilizer, diesel; officials credit current political climate

Raul Martinez, co-owner and marketing manager of Taqueria MTZ, said fuel costs have become a growing concern for their business.

“Since we serve such a diverse clientele in Amarillo, we have different clients on every side of Amarillo,” Martinez said. “So that means we’re constantly on the run. We’re constantly, if we’re on the south side, we’re on the east side, we’re on the west side. So with that, since we’re traveling so much.”…
