Starting Saturday, March 28, the City of Amarillo will begin removing and replacing crosswalk and pavement markings that don’t meet new TxDOT safety standards. The work follows a statewide directive to ensure all roadway markings comply with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD).
Decorative or non-standard markings will be replaced at several locations, including near San Jacinto Elementary (S.W. Third Ave. & S. Carolina St.), Margaret Wills Elementary (Belleview St. & Line Ave.), and multiple intersections in the North Heights area.
