AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The first three months of 2026 included more than two dozen new projects coming to the Amarillo area, from restaurants and businesses to road projects and renovations.

Here’s a look at planned activity across Amarillo from the first quarter of 2026, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
January:
- St. Stephen Church of Amarillo, 4600 S Western St. This project is for a new storage building on the property, expected to be completed in May 2026.
- Rosendin, 209 S Arthur St.
- PN & MD LCC, 2207 S Western St. This project is a renovation “within an existing metal building shell” in a multi-store unit on South Western Street.
- RM 1061, from North Coulter Street to BUS 40D. This is a $9.75 million project involving new road constructions, grading, curb ramps, sidewalks, traffic signs and signals, and other features for the roadway. This is expected to be completed at the end of January 2027.
- Youth Center of the High Plains, 9300 S. Georgia St.
- MediCenter Building, 3501 S. Soncy Rd.
- Northwest Texas Healthcare System, 1901 Port Ln.
- Keller Williams, 3955 S. Soncy Rd.
February:
- Holiday World Amarillo, 12050 SE 3rd Ave. This project will be a new construction of a Holiday World outlet, including an RV sales showroom and shop. The project is expected to be completed in April 2027.
- Yellow City Academy, 2920 SW 5th Ave.
- Amarillo Cold Storage, 10183 Axiom Dr. This will be a new construction for a cold storage building with loading docks and an office area, set to be completed in December 2026.
- Amarillo Medical Specialists Medical Office, 9092 Westgate Pkwy.
- MULAN 45th, 5710 SW 45th Ave.
- 7410 Hillside Road, Unit B, 7410 Hillside Rd.
- BSA Hospital, 1600 Wallace Blvd.
March:
- The Toasted Yolk, 5681 S Soncy Rd. This project was the construction of a new restaurant on Soncy Road, which was completed in February 2026.
- Wolfson Warehouse, 1415-A N Forest. This project is a new construction set to be completed in June 2026, involving the creation of a steel building.
- 27th Barbershop, 1015 SE 27th Ave.
- MediCenter, 3501 South Soncy Rd. This is a renovation of what was originally a dental office, needing remediation after flooding.
- Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo, 7010 SW 9th Ave. This project will replace MRI equipment.
- Wright-McLain Restaurant, 2902 SW 6th Ave. This is a renovation for a tenant to finish out a unit in a multi-store building.
- John Stiff Park, 5000 Bell St. This project involves the new construction around John Stiff Park, extending the roadway from the park onto Bell Street. It was set to be completed by the end of March 2026.
- Xcel Amarillo Call Center, 4701 Parkside Dr. This is a renovation of an existing building to house a new Xcel Energy call center, as well as the construction of a new storage building, expected to be completed in June 2027.
- Coast Packing Company – South, 9400 Building 1 Centerport Blvd. This “Project Clara – Refinery” project is a new construction for a 15,600 square-foot lard refinery to support a manufacturing facility already under construction at the same site. It is expected to be completed in September 2027.
- Flying J Travel Center, 9601 E Interstate 40 Hwy. This renovation was set after the closure of the attached Denny’s, and will include a dividing wall “to prevent unauthorized acces to the closed Denny’s area.”
- Social Club, 1375 N. Western Suite 400. This renovation will create partition walls for a retail space in the building.
