Amarillo Crime Stoppers set to host 19th annual ‘Shred It Day’ on April 11

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo Crime Stoppers is informing the public about the 19th Annual “Shred It Day” to help individuals protect their identities. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at Documents Shredding and Storage.

According to the Amarillo Police Department press release, Amarillo Crime Stoppers and Student Crime Stoppers of Amarillo will attend the event and provide secure shredding for documents guests want to keep out of the hands of thieves.

Officials said, “This event is a great way to prevent identity theft while also helping the environment. Recycling paper reduces landfill waste, saves trees, and decreases the energy required to produce new paper.”
