CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M freshman Emiliia Tangara broke her own school record in the women’s 400m hurdles on Friday evening to highlight the Michael Johnson Invitational at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium in Waco.
Blessing Akintoye continued her impressive campaign in the 200m finals with a time of 23.44 for the 10th fastest time in outdoor program history. Akintoye would follow that up with a mark of 52.78 in the 400m, the third best mark in DII this season and the sixth best in WT history to finish second overall.
Sandra Appiah (54.22) and Asana Hamidu (54.83) hit provisional marks in the 400m. Esther Conde-Turpin claimed an 11th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.14m while the senior also placed 15th in the 400m hurdles (1:04.03) and third in the javelin (43.33m)…
