Sharing Hope Ministry collecting granola bars for women leaving Texas prisons

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Sharing Hope Ministry is collecting granola bars through April 30 for its Blessing Bag program serving women being released from Texas prisons.

The ministry says it is partnering with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to provide Blessing Bags to women re-entering society after incarceration.

According to Sharing Hope Ministry, the goal is to help fill the gap between incarceration and re-entry by giving women tools to help them build a stable plan for a new season of life.

The ministry is asking for individually wrapped granola bars to include in the bags. Organizers say chocolate varieties should be avoided because they can melt in transit…
