I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how quickly Amarillo is changing. With new development, infrastructure discussions and continued economic momentum across the Texas Panhandle, it is clear our city is evolving in important ways.

That kind of growth is exciting. It also requires us to ask an important question: What does it mean for the people who have called Amarillo home for decades?

Every day, I talk with older adults and their families who are thinking through what the next chapter of life should look like. Often, the first question is simple: “Should I stay in my home?”…
