Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley and Mayor Pro Tem Don Tipps on Friday took questions from the public and vowed to work with city staff to improve policy after a fire that started in the city’s landfill has been blamed for dozens of lost homes and other property damage.
A quick press conference was called for Friday at 4 p.m., at the Rick Husband International Airport to discuss the situation and answer questions posed by those who lost homes and for the press about what happened at the Landfill/Stinky Fire that caused it to get out of control.
