Criminal investigation expands into chemical tank crisis in Garden Grove

After opening a criminal investigation into the aerospace company behind the chemical tank crisis in Garden Grove, the top prosecutor for Orange County said Tuesday he’s expanding the scope of the probe.

District Attorney Todd Spitzer told NBC Los Angeles that the case will now include price gouging and predatory practices by attorneys. He said as safety remains the priority, he wants to make sure anyone impacted by the ordeal, including tens of thousands of people who were forced out of their homes, is made whole.

GKN Incorporate, an international company with facilities across the world, should have insurance and be held accountable for reimbursing people for out-of-pocket expenses, according to Spitzer…
