Long Beach homicide detectives continue investigating a fatal mid-day shooting that happened Thursday, May 28, near Cedar Avenue and Plymouth Street.
The deadly shooting triggered a massive police response that lasted more than seven hours in North Long Beach. Multiple SWAT units, armored vehicles, drones, and helicopters flooded the area while officers shut down portions of Long Beach Boulevard searching for the suspect.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded around 12:32 p.m. to reports of a hit shooting in the area. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries…
