The historic Newport Beach venue’s expanded programming pairs Golden Age Hollywood charm with a new lineup of concerts and comedy shows.
The Lido Theater, a historic Newport Beach movie house, is expanding its live entertainment programming with concert and comedy shows planned through October 2026. The new lineup moves the venue beyond its traditional movie screenings by bringing music, stand-up, and tribute performances to one of Orange County’s most recognisable stages.
Since 2024, Hollywood producer Jospeh “McG” Nichol and Jordan Otterbein of River Jetty Restaurant Group have worked to pair The Lido’s Golden Age Hollywood roots with a series of performances from modern artists. Their goal has been to create a space that appeals to a wide range of O.C. locals while honouring the theater’s legacy as a premier art deco entertainment destination since 1939. For McG, a Newport Beach native, that vision involves making the venue feel both classic and current.
