A person died on Friday night after a crash on the 5 Freeway in Orange County, and investigators are looking into whether impairment played a role.
According to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson, the crash was reported on the southbound span of the 5 near Alicia Parkway in Laguna Hills around 10:30 p.m.
“A vehicle spun out and burst into flames,” the CHP spokesperson said. “Fire crews responded and extinguished the blaze shortly after arriving on scene.”
