A 22-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson was killed late Sunday after his motorcycle slammed into an Amazon delivery truck in Huntington Beach, turning a busy Beach Boulevard stretch into a crime scene. First responders found the rider unconscious in the roadway, rushed him to a nearby hospital, and doctors later pronounced him dead. The Amazon driver was not hurt and stayed at the scene to speak with officers.
The crash was reported around 8:30 p.m. near Slater Avenue and Beach Boulevard, according to NBC Los Angeles. The outlet reported that Huntington Beach police identified the rider as a 22-year-old Costa Mesa man and the Amazon truck driver as a 27-year-old man from Santa Ana, who has been cooperating with investigators. Police told NBC Los Angeles that the truck driver did not appear to be impaired. It was still unclear whether the motorcyclist had been under the influence at the time of the crash.
