A 19-year-old Anaheim man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a reckless driving crash that severely injured another motorist on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near La Brea Avenue in Mid-City Los Angeles four months earlier. Noor El Deen Amr Sorar was taken into custody on suspicion of reckless driving causing major injuries, following a monthslong search by state investigators.
According to MyNewsLA.com, officers with the California Highway Patrol’s Southern Division Major Crimes Unit located and arrested Sorar on Tuesday. Bail information was not immediately available, the outlet reported. The unit that made the arrest typically handles complex, high-impact criminal traffic investigations across Los Angeles County, including felony hit-and-runs and fatal freeway collisions, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash itself happened on April 19, on the eastbound 10 Freeway near La Brea Avenue, per CHP. The collision injured another motorist, who sustained unspecified severe injuries, the report states.
