Orange County’s neediest families will face new hurdles in the coming months and years to keep their public health insurance and cover doctor visits as officials brace for drastic eligibility changes and funding cuts to Medi-Cal.
The changes are gradually being implemented amid an ongoing membership decline at CalOptima – OC’s managed health plan for the poor that administers Medi-Cal – in the last couple of years.
