Santa Monica Public Library is offering a special-edition library card at any of its five locations for the month along with discounts at local businesses. The special library card is designed by local artist Al Mercado and is drawn from Santa Monica’s Art Everywhere: Local Canvas Initiative that showcases local artists within the city and commercial storefronts.
Now speaking of discounts, this is the second year the library’s “Read Local, Shop Local” Community Discount Program will be in effect, where patrons can get discounts at participating local businesses by showing their library card.
Local businesses include Bike Attack Electric, Crow Comedy, Good Body Pilates, Offhand Wine Bar, the Santa Monica History Museum, AJA Vineyards, Backyard Bowls, Chick-fil-A Santa Monica, Crossroads Trading, Harvelle’s and Road Runner Sports…
