Forecast guidance valid for 2 p.m. Wednesday shows dew point values reaching 77 in Los Angeles, with Anaheim and Long Beach both forecast at 74, and Mission Viejo coming in at 73. These readings represent a significant departure from the region’s typically dry climate, where dew points in the 50s and 60s are far more common even during the warmer months of the year.
Coastal communities including Avalon at 71 and Oceanside at 68 are also expected to see elevated moisture levels, indicating that the humid air mass is not confined to the immediate urban corridor but stretches across a broad swath of the Southern California coastline and adjacent inland valleys.
Inland and Northern Areas See a Sharper Contrast
Farther north and inland, conditions are forecast to be noticeably different, with Santa Clarita coming in at 49 and Thousand Oaks at 54, illustrating a sharp gradient between the moisture-rich air settling over the coastal basin and the drier conditions persisting across the northern Los Angeles County area. Victorville, positioned well inland, is forecast at 60, reflecting the more typical desert-influenced airmass found across that portion of the region.
