Testing of water and soil is underway in a significant step forward for Ladera Ranch after concerns were raised over several rare childhood cancer cases.
Researchers and students from Cal State Fullerton gathered samples at three parks Sunday to study whether anything in the environment might be connected to the cancer cases. The testing is the first after concerns over at least six cases of a rare bone and soft tissue cancer called Ewing sarcoma came to light in the community of about 26,000.
