A 22-year-old Florida woman has been identified by relatives as the second person killed in a fiery McLaren crash in Southern California that also claimed the life of a well-known car-show organizer. Authorities continue to investigate what caused the high-speed wreck in Irvine early Sunday morning, USA TODAY reported.
Family members identified the second victim as Alexis “Lexi” Kramer of Lakeland, Florida. Kramer died alongside James Wehr, 27, a social media personality and co-founder of South OC Cars & Coffee, a popular weekly gathering for car enthusiasts in Orange County, according to Fox 11 Los Angeles.
According to Irvine police, the crash happened shortly after midnight near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue. Investigators said a 2019 McLaren accelerated from a red light at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control. The vehicle struck a curb and a tree, split apart and caught fire.
