Police in California are seeking tips from the public after a bronze statue of Jesus Christ valued at $50,000 was stolen from a Catholic church.
The Santa Ana Police Department said two male suspects were captured on video carrying out the theft at Christ Our Savior Catholic Church on W. Alton Avenue at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30.
The suspects entered church property carrying a bag that contained an “electric cutting tool,” which they used to cut the Christ statue at the ankles, leaving only the bronze feet behind.
