Pedestrian dies after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Long Beach

Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach that killed a pedestrian on Friday evening, officials said.

Officers responded to the collision at Baltic Avenue and Burnett Street around 7:20 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a woman was walking north on Baltic in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a white pickup truck that was going south and trying to make a left turn onto Burnett. Police say the driver took off, continuing east on Burnett. No other details about the truck were immediately available…
