The Fountain Valley Police recovered more than $54,000 in suspected fraud proceeds last week after an elderly Connecticut man was tricked into mailing $8,600 to an address in the city. The victim contacted FVPD immediately after learning his package had just been delivered.
Officers arrived within minutes, detaining a suspect who attempted to flee and threw multiple packages over a nearby wall.
