Half-a-dozen people were taken into custody, and four ended up being charged with crimes, following a multi-agency sting operation into a SoCal-based organized luxury car theft crew involved in at least one alleged carjacking.
According to the Downey Police Department, who led the investigation and was assisted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol, the crime spree began “on or around” Aug. 7, and continued through Sept. 22.
