Investigators and family members turned to the public on Thursday in their search for a driver who left a Cerritos College student dead after running him over at a nearby Chevron station earlier this year in Norwalk.
Investigators said Edward Pyon arrived on campus for class the morning of July 6 before walking to the gas station across the street.
“At approximately 6:50 a.m. in the morning, Edward Pyon was intentionally struck by a vehicle at the Cerritos gas station. Tragically, Mr. Pyon succumbed to his injuries a week later. Passing on July 14, 2026,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Eric Arias said during a Thursday news conference attended by Pyon’s mother and sister.
