A dangerous and long-lasting heat wave will bear down on Southern California for several more days, but a cooldown, and even a slight chance of rain, is on the way.
Very little change is expected through at least Thursday as a strong ridge of high pressure keeps near-record and record afternoon heat in place, according to the National Weather Service.
