A local activist organization, Orange County CSO (Community Service Organization Orange County), has announced a protest outside the Santa Ana Police Department and is demanding the immediate firing of officers involved in the recent arrest of Florentino Lopez, an incident that was captured on video and has already prompted an internal investigation by the Santa Ana Police Department.
The group’s social media post alleges that Lopez was “complying with officers” when he was tackled and struck multiple times. The organization further characterizes the incident as part of a “pattern of racist police brutality” and is demanding that the officers involved be terminated immediately.
Those are serious allegations. They deserve serious scrutiny…
