If you treat Irvine streets like a racetrack, don’t be surprised when the finish line is the Orange County Jail.
According to the Irvine Police Department, officers observed a BMW run a red light and reach speeds exceeding 100 mph near Irvine Center Drive and Yale Avenue before the driver allegedly fled from an attempted traffic stop.
Police later identified the suspected driver as 19-year-old Darrin Walshe of Costa Mesa, arrested him at his residence, booked him into jail for felony evading, and impounded the BMW for 30 days.
