Los Angeles police used security footage to identify the teen and four co-defendants
Los Angeles police have arrested five people — including a 13-year-old boy — in connection with the destruction and marauding of a much-beloved mom-and-pop bakery.
Investigators announced the arrests during a Tuesday press conference.
A stolen Kia Soul was used to smash through the locked doors at Ruben’s Bakery & Mexican Food in the early morning hours of Jan. 2.
The ” ram raiding ” incident followed a nearby street takeover . The ensuing thievery inside the Compton bakery was captured by surveillance cameras.
Police used that footage to identify the five defendants. With damage and lost merchandise, the crime cost the owners tens of thousands.
At the press conference, police said the 13-year-old was behind the wheel of the stolen Kia that backed into the business’ main entrance multiple times, until the building was breached.
