https://www.dailynews.com/author/sean-emery/ The offenses his counsel attributed to his twin brother, a Highland man who sexually attacked a youngster and a woman in South Orange County over 20 years ago, were sentenced to 140 years to life in prison on Friday, January 26.
Early in the year, an Orange County Superior Court jury found Kevin Konther guilty of raping two different women—a 32-year-old in Mission Viejo in 1998 and a 9-year-old girl in Lake Forest in 1995—as well as performing lewd acts on the preteen daughter of his girlfriend at their homes in Highland and Huntington Beach.
Judge Richard M. King labeled the 58-year-old Highland resident Konther “a sexual carnivore” when imposing the maximum penalty. After Konther dragged the two rape victims into private places, they were assaulted in public.
According to King, this resembles a cheetah, a lion, or a cat searching for food. It is not the behavior of vultures or rats to harm their offspring.
As a “calculated” rapist who “thought through every single act,” Konther was characterized by Deputy District Attorney Juliet Oliver. Upon these ladies, the defendant repeatedly performed horrible actions. This individual is not worthy of any mercy.
