After major flooding, parts of Southern California to be whipped by relentless winds this weekend

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for several regions in Southern California, in effect from now until 4 PM PST Sunday. Northeast winds, ranging from 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 45 and 55 mph, are anticipated.

Localized wind-prone areas, including passes, canyons, and coastal slopes, may experience even higher gusts of up to 65 mph. In the valleys and inland Orange County, wind gusts are expected to be mostly between 35 and 45 mph.

The affected areas include San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys – The Inland Empire, San Diego County Valleys, San Bernardino County Mountains, Riverside County Mountains, Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, San Diego County Mountains, San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning, and Orange County Inland Areas.

The advisory warns of potential impacts, including the blowing around of unsecured objects and the possibility of tree limbs being blown down due to the strong winds.

Motorists, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, are urged to exercise extra caution when driving. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects that could be affected by the gusty winds.
