Fiery crash closes lanes along California’s 405 freeway during early morning commute

Early this morning, Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) swiftly responded to a traffic collision with fire on the southbound 405 Freeway between Jamboree and Culver in Irvine.

Engine and Truck 4 raced to the scene, discovering a two-vehicle collision with one car engulfed in flames.

The incident unfolded as firefighters arrived to find the fiery aftermath of the collision. Fortunately, the occupant of the vehicle on fire managed to escape before the flames intensified. Both drivers involved were promptly assessed by OCFA firefighter paramedics, with results indicating that only the driver of the vehicle consumed by fire sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), shedding light on the circumstances that led to the fiery crash. The collaborative efforts between OCFA and CHP aim to determine the factors contributing to the incident.
