Joni Mitchell, 80, makes Grammys debut with rare performance at 2024 show

For the first time ever, Joni Mitchell performed live at the Grammys .

The 80-year-old “Big Yellow Taxi” singer lit up the stage during Sunday night’s 2024 ceremony, held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, with an array of equally gifted musicians.

Friend and collaborator Brandi Carlile introduced Mitchell before they sang “Both Sides Now” together, accompanied by Jacob Collier, Allison Russell, Sista Strings, Lucius and Blake Mills.

Mitchell remained seated throughout the moving number while rocking her signature braids and an all-black outfit and cap.
