Cops write 43 tickets in two hour sting in California city; Some drivers ignored crossing guards

In a proactive effort to enhance road safety, the Irvine Police Traffic Bureau conducted a High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operation last Thursday morning in the University area.

Over the course of a two-hour operation, officers focused on enforcing traffic laws to ensure the well-being of both motorists and pedestrians.

During the operation, officers diligently patrolled the area, resulting in the issuance of 43 citations for various violations, police said.

The most prevalent infractions observed were related to distracted driving and cellphone use, highlighting the critical need for increased awareness and adherence to traffic regulations, according to police

Additionally, a few individuals were cited for failing to obey Crossing Guards, police added. The California Vehicle Code mandates that motorists must follow the directions or signals provided by Crossing Guards to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians.
