Wanted Man In Possession Of Meth Arrested And Released On Citation

A wanted Compton man was arrested last week after he was stopped for vehicle code violations in Canyon Country.

Around 3:40 p.m. Monday, April 8, a deputy was patrolling when he noticed a vehicle with several vehicle code violations and expired registration since September 2023 on Camp Plenty Road and Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station .

“The deputy conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle to warn/cite the driver,” Borbon said. “During the investigation, the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was on active probation.”

During a search, the deputy also found the suspect to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine .

Thomas Lopez, 47, from Compton  was arrested and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, according to Borbon.

He was released to appear in court at a later date, according to officials.
