Your SoCal weather report for Thursday, July, 25: Last day of heat wave

You can breathe a sigh of relief today because it’s the final day of the heat advisory for the Santa Clarita, San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, the Santa Monica Mountains and the Inland Empire valleys and mountains.

The San Gabriel Valley will see temperatures in the high 90s to the mid-100s with the East Los Angeles area seeing temperatures in the low 90s.

Cities along the coast will see temperatures in the mid 70s to mid 80s.

This heat wave will taper off starting Friday with cooler temperatures expected this weekend.

If you are headed to the Orange County Fair, it might be a good idea to pack a portable fan with temperatures in the area reaching mid-80s in areas like Costa Mesa and Irvine to low-90s further inland in Anaheim.

An excessive heat warning is in effect for much of the interior mountains and deserts. Make sure you are staying hydrated and take out those board games gathering dust for a spot of family fun as its best to stay indoors in air-conditioning.

Isolated monsoonal showers and thunderstorms are expected in the inland mountain and desert areas but drier, cooler weather is expected this weekend.
