Wildfire Fund offering $750 to those affected by the recent fires

CALIFORNIA – The Inland SoCal United Way is providing financial assistance to those affected by wildfire in Southern California.

Although applications have exceeded funding currently available, all new applications will be placed on a wait list.

Households in Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and The Pomona Valley Region of East Los Angeles County who meet the eligibility requirements can receive $750 in direct financial assistance to pay for costs incurred due to wildfires.

According to the website assistance can be used to help replace lost items or to help pay for hotel stays, deposits on new housing, or other fire-related needs.

Individual assistance will be determined based on demonstrated need.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance

The Employment Development Department (EDD) said they provide a variety of services to individuals and businesses affected by disasters in California.

Generally, there is a one-week waiting period for individuals obtaining Unemployment Insurance (UI).
